Escort mk2 X-Flow 1600

My project escort mk2 -79

Ford Kent X-Flow 1600cc engine.
-Bcf2 camshaft
-4-2-1 exhaust manifold
-Lightened flywheel
-Weber 32/36 DGAV carb (doesnt work too well with bcf2 cam)

Compression ratio is probably lower than std since this assembly has combustion chambers in both head and pistons.

TODO: DCOE 40 Twincarbs, Electronic ignition, Ported GT head and flat pistons (higher compression ratio plz).

performance now:
92.4hp @ 5282rpm
149Nm @ 3724rpm

Briteistähän saa muuten vieläkin uusia BDA koneita ja noita Loutksen Twincameja mutta hinta on aivan hervoton. Itse hyvä kun saa jollain tavalla viriteltyä wanhaa kenttiäläistä. :D

@4evaevo If I recall correctly it is somewhere near 12-13lbs (5 - 5.8kg).

I have a mk1 that im getting a bcf2 for in my 1600.. does it not work well at all with a weber twin barrel??? or just not as good

Its OK with my 32/36 DGAV weber but works best with twin 40 dcoes.

Also single twinbarrel should do the job well if both choke plates are opening at the same time (38/38 DGMS or 40DCOE for example).

It's a bit tricky to finetune 32/36 DGAV and the idle is a bit lumpy.

The ford escort mk2 was the best rally car ever made. its was a shame when the escort went to front wheel drive.

why not fit a 38dgas or a 40dcnf to this manifold? maybe a lynx manifold for single 40dcoe although the servo may get in way.

Hi, I have more or less the same configuration just engine is 1700cc.

I noticed with 32/36 engine was running a lot lumpy ..only full throttle was OK.

I decide to put a 32/32 from a 1600 xflow and change is amazing...runs much better ...but this carb restric performance...

may I know yor set up fro this 32/36?cheers Antonio
