Raunchy is an industrial metal band combining elements from thrash metal, industrial metal, melodic death metal, and metalcore (also called "futuristic hybrid metal). This Danish band was formed in 1994, and has had four official releases since then. Merging a thick, beefy, electronics-aided metal sound with melodic touches, their breakthrough came in 2002, when they were the first Danish metal band signed to Nuclear Blast Records.

Raunchy was founded in 1992 by Jesper Tilsted, Jesper Kvist, and Morten Toft Hansen, who start jamming, playing mostly cover from bands like Metallica and Slayer. Lars Vognstrup and Lars Christensen join in 1994, and in 1995 they record their first demo, at Borsing Recordings in Århus. The song "Space Story" from the demo is later released on the compilation CD Extremity Rising vol. 1, a rock compilation from Serious Entertainment. Two demos (and two more Extremity Rising inclusions later) the band finally get their record deal, with Mighty Music's sub label Drug(s) in 2000. A few months later Raunchy enters the Aabenraa Studio with producer Jacob Hansen to record Velvet Noise. In 2001 the album is released in Scandinavia and is very received by the press.[citation needed] After the release Jeppe Christensen joins the band.

2002 proves to be a crucial year for the band: as the first Danish band ever Raunchy signs a contract with one of the world biggest metal labels, Nuclear Blast Records, who release Velvet Noise is released in Europe. Raunchy plays at the German festival Summerbreeze. They record a cover of Wham!'s "Last Christmas" and a new song called "Decemberklar" for Denmark's National radio, produced by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios. The songs prove to be very popular. Raunchy also performs live in the radio-studio; the performance is taped by Danish Television and broadcast as well. In 2003 the Velvet Noise is released in North America, and in the summer the second album, Confusion Bay, is recorded, again with producer Jacob Hansen.

The year 2004 starts off with singer Lars Vognstrup leaving the band. Kasper Thomsen is recruited as the new front man, and in February Confusion Bay is released. An animated video for the track "Watch Out" is made by the critically acclaimed director Anders Morgenthaler and the video receives airplay on channels like VIVA+ and MTV2. The band perform a whole concert live on Danish National Radio, and in August the band perform at the Wacken in front of 4,000 fans.

In 2005 Death Pop Romance is recorded, mixed by Tue Madsen and released with a new label, Lifeforce Records. At the end of the year the band performs at the Danish Metal Awards. The show is broadcast live on the Danish radio and marks the band's third radio appearance. Death Pop Romance is released to good reviews in 2006.[citation needed] Raunchy supports legendary band Soulfly on all German dates. Apparently Max Cavalera is pleased enough with their performance to give the band more stage time after only two shows. The band also plays at the legendary With Full Force Festival in Leipzig before 10,000 fans. In 2006, the band continued to tour to support Death Pop Romance and with support gigs behind them for such acts as Ill Nino and Hatebreed, the band embarked on a full-length European tour called Danish Dynamite Tour, together with Hatesphere and Volbeat.

Horror films are movies that strive to elicit responses of fear, horror and terror from viewers. Their plots frequently involve themes of the supernatural. Horror movies also usually include a central villain. Early horror movies were largely based on classic literature of the gothic/horror genre, such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. More recent horror films, in contrast, often draw inspiration from the insecurities of life after World War II, giving rise to the three distinct, but related, sub-genres: the horror-of-personality Psycho film, the horror-of-armageddon Invasion of the Bodysnatchers film, and the horror-of-the-demonic Scream film. The last sub-genre may be seen as a modernized transition from the earliest horror films, expanding on their emphasis on supernatural agents that bring horror to the world.[1]

Horror films have been criticized for including graphic violence and dismissed as low budget B-movies and exploitation films. Nonetheless, all the major studios and many respected directors, including Alfred Hitchcock, Roman Polanski, Stanley Kubrick, William Friedkin, Richard Donner, Francis Ford Coppola, and George Romero have made forays into the genre. Serious critics have analyzed horror films through the prisms of genre theory and the auteur theory. Some horror films incorporate elements of other genres such as science fiction, fantasy, mockumentary, black comedy, and thrillers.
