http://www.kseniyasimonova.com/ Kseniya Simonova is an Ukrainian artist who won Ukraine's Got Talent 2009. She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

@SillyKinkajoo Read the book called Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin. I live in Canada and had no concept of the level of devastation that struck Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and the Baltic States. 14 million, non-combatants, were murdered by political decree between 1933 and 1945. They all suffered horribly but Ukraine worst of all. These people still feel those wounds, it happened only a generation ago.

my jaw literally dropped at 2:00 when she's painting the running crowd. I mean what the..? she brushes her hand across and it already immediately looks like people.. thats so crazy.. I'm an artist myself (digital painting, game concept etc though..) and this is absolutely BREATHTAKING. really good, heartbreaking, astonishing and just plain beautiful... what makes it even more amazing is her timing, with the music and everything.. just incredible.
