This a startup, idle, and rev to 4000 RPM of my '71 Datsun 510. This car is very much in the "before" stage. The car currently has a dual SU carbed L20B engine w/5-Speed. The car has no muffler, this is a straight pipe from the header back.

  • Must be nice to have no rust issues like we do here in Ontario Canada. All those dime cars rusted out completely in about 4 years!!

  • you can get all the L20B stuff you want at the dealer- even factory reman units for about 1800 US. I got lucky and got a 'U60' block reman. with a 'U60' head, rods, and crank- all standard size. i ripped the stuff out of it and will stroke it with Z22E stuff. The U60 is a full-house type and would be good for a turbo motor later on. L20Bs NEED 46mm SUs...

  • @camronjeffron Oregon is the same way. No salt on the roads, we use gravel. I have a SPOTLESS (as far as rust goes) 1970 Datsun PL521 pickup and it sits outside for now, until I paint it. But still, 30 years in the Oregon rain and no rust.

  • I live in Québec City and I'm currently searching for a L20B engine. Do you know where I could find one because their is none around here. Do you think that a r20det swap could be a good choice. I know that it's much expensive and I'll need to build my own part but it is more easy to find one around here. Thx guys

  • hey man put a r34 nur motor in it they go heaps hard

  • I never used to have an appreciation for the old Datsuns, Toyotas, and Mazdas, but now I'm startin' to see they were pretty sharp little cars.

  • how much?

  • i live in rainy washington and you dont see these driving ever! i got a 78 510 and a 77 b210 and i went to oregon to get the b210 almost completely rust free :_) the 510 is another story...
