to all the people who think this is crap... i sorta felt the same way at first. i felt like anyone could do this. but when you think about it, you would just be copying him, while he isn't copying anyone. thats what makes his art so great

Hey, Kentheseer and theenlightenedgenius, It's ironic that you are both trying to defend Pollock, an important pioneer of originality of expression, and neither of you could even formulate an original comment. Note for later, when plagiarising from a textbook, change some of the words to make it look as though you at least tried to think for yourself.

@excelephant - ok i'll pretend like im the great and powerfull eggplant, once upon a time i was jack, and i climbed a beanstalk and now i clean evil keneivals moped ,sometimes i use w-d 40 but other times i use a hammer.

@FalloutHeaven No, just as Pollock is not a painter just like Michelangelo - he was unique in his own style and purpose. I don't suggest that everyone should think a Pollock is brilliant, I believe it requires a certain mindset to appreciate such a style, but why can't people just accept that they don't have that mindset without rubbishing everyone who does?

@synestheticmusic, I would suggest that, if you are finding it difficult to get the colours and balance right, you may be trying to copy the visual aspect of Pollock too closely. Paint impulsively what you feel in the particular moment, that's what he did, otherwise it's a hollow impression. Good luck.
