I set this tank up over X-mas break 09. I used dirt in the substrate, so it takes a while. This is an hour after I added the power head to the right for my Rainbow fish, about two weeks along. Trident java moss on the log, rocks holding down the driftwood for now, plants need some time to fill in. (some I put in too early and punished, (the swords and java that look bad) Like all planted tanks, this takes time, but I'm happy with the start. More fish and plants coming. Stay tuned.

  • @littlelauren971 I have sand like gravel. After set up, it always remains cloudy, I think that with sand it definetly takes a few days to settle down by itself. If the tank is not cycled, make you you cycle your tank before adding any fish in there. I would not actually add fish till it is no longer foggy. I don't think it would harm the fish but I don't think they will like it. Think of it as you breathing fresh air in a park, or you at a bbq with all that burning smoke. Won't harm ya. but....

  • hey please reply ASAP. i have just changed all the aquarium gravel in my tank to some playsand i found in bags in the garden that previous people left behind. the water is cloudy and looks like there is "smoke" (you get the idea of what it looks like) moving around in there. will this go by itself? and is it safe to put fish in straight away?

  • @samuelwaynefoleyjr +1 on that

  • look nice , I like how you combined the 3 different tyopes of gravel
