@reggie44 - I thought Drummond was part of the band that accompanied James on his 1968 tour of Vietnam.

@billchew450 He toured with Neil, and quite a few others... but not James. He recorded this shortly before a medical condition took him off the road.
James didn't care what color your skin was, as long as you could get down!

@smithbonz : Also worth mentioning that James is asking a guy named "Tim" to "walk around a little bit on the bass" toward the end. That was bassist Tim Drummond, who became a prominent session and touring player. Drummond held down the low end on Neil Young's "Heart Of Gold".

This single was originally released around 10/1967 as the B side to There was a Time. This drum kick by the Dapps drummer was one of the most copied beats in all the 60's. Every drummer at the time tried to imitate the bass drum kit (listen again to hear how innovative that was for the time period)

This Classic Stuff! I have the red Label King 45, He revolutionized the music what we hear today and the last 40 years! Michael did copy JB moves as many others did too. We all use to try to dance like him at High School Dances!
