Hey We got that here. They say it came over on the Mayflower with the pilgrams. It is one the plants that Algonquin peoples called "whitemans foot grass" There was several plants that grew any place the Europeans settled & this was one them.

Raw!... or mix in with other things for a bit of additional flavor, a nice zingy apple-peal taste.

My pocket guide "food for free" recons they are good if you put them in an omlette just before the eggs are set. They wilt, change colour a bit like spinach.
I'm going to try that in a bit ... so if I'm not here next week it wasn't sorrel! =P
