  • In response to xtjc, what improper hold on the trombone causes left hand or shoulder soreness?

  • Wow... cool stand. BTW how many trombones do you have? You must be rich

  • Thanks! Glad you like it. I have a few trombones and borrowed some from my students for use in the video.

  • @trombonespinesaver I'll try to make this short. The key lies in using the least amount of effort to hold the entire weight of the trombone with the three fingers. The instrument will naturally tend to drift and the index finger is there simply to keep it still, don't press down (claw the instrumentt) on the instrument with the index finger. Use the twisting motion of the wrist to adjust the instrument parralel to the floor. Even many professionals aren't holding it correctly

  • I'm not trying to criticize this accessory but if you hold the trombone properly, you won't have problems such as soreness on the left hand or shoulder.
