Anyone not knowing what The Nothing is should watch the movie again. The Nothing represents the voids that fall when people stop dreaming, stop fantasizing, stop building Fantasia. To aid in the defense of our beloved Fantasia, call in sick from work today and eat 1/8 oz of magic mushrooms.

So the nothing represents nihilism. despair, etc.

what happens when we give up on our imaginations as we grow up.

i think many adults should watch this movie

The Neverending Story is Heidegger for dummies.

The movies make it little to no justice, though.

The nothing: A secret society of which one "normal" person can neither confirm nor deny (aka: Illuminati). The missing link of where we TRULY come from: The REAL Never Ending Story. This movie never used to do my head in and I just watched it again for the first time in yrs. So many subliminals in it!

& when the nothing gets you, when there is nothing left to live for, nothing that really matters, you sink into the swamps of sadness (killing yourself) which so many people so each year (which Artex did) I always think of the swamps of sadness when I hear of someone I once knew in high school committing sueaside which has happened 3 times. There's a lotta fucken sadness in life...

Uh, more like a kids movie for kids. Not a bad movie, as I recall, but definitely a kids movie. [It used to crack me up the way the rock biter says "gone". Atreyu is annoying. But I digress.]

It would be a deeper film if it suggested the kid reading the book was mentally disturbed and delusional. That's where I thought it was going when I first saw it a LONG time ago. When it became clear it was just a rehashing of "the magic of childhood imagination!"/ Peter Pan thing, I was less impressed.

No reason to be rude, or imply it, though. And that was nine months ago I made that comment. I had forgotten about it. Have a nice day.
