Stalin PURGED the Red Army in his paranoia, which resulted in inexperienced people and stupid yes-men rising through the ranks, which of course resulted in disaster more often than not, and certainly FAR more often than was necessary.
Trotsky was a brilliant military leader and would have won World War 2 far more quickly, far more efficiently, and in a far less costly way, than that idiot Stalin did.
How people continue to defend Stalin is beyond me. THIS is why Communism hasn't succeeded yet.

Trotsky was calling for action against Hitler before 1933. All Stalin cared about was his own position in Russia right up until Hitler's tanks were invading in 1941.
