What happened to the other steam train they had sitting in the sheds next to the presidential coach??
I remember it was very similar to 41, green wheels, silver cow plow, and front, with a black chasis.... i went to the backstage tour when i was like 7 years old with my dad, (11 years ago) but i remember as if it happened yesterday.
Oh i know it would make alot of money over there. u dont have to tell us that. U have to tell marking, they dont know what we have and what we can do with them. Ive been working there for a while now. it just dosent work trying to talk about it, we are not even a loud to even try.
well im not saying get it all up to FRA at once. and i guarantee you that a lot of people would pay to see that. give me some cost estimates on new parts and i'll tell you what a whole bach of RGS and D&RGW lovers think :-) not trying ot be negative but i can almost bet that we could raise the money.
im sure you could raise the money...a lot of people would love to see the engines on the D&S or C&TS...and heck the D&S and the C&TS know how to make the engines FRA...what im saying is, over time you could slowly make changes to the engines and when they are finally up to par then you could send them...Im sure the D&S could get you a cheap truck
we do have a smaller engine. its 4 4 2, use to be a 0 4 0. the costs of sending the engines over to Co would alot and no one wants to spend the money. plus there no where close to running FRA.
well maybe you guys should try to find a smaller 3 ft gauge train at least for a month or two, lease it and send these trains to the D&S or the C&TS...they would love to have them run for a little bit...plus it would be good for the engine to make sure it is still operating well and can still pull grades.
hey when will that 2-4-4 run or use it
