You an learn this. There's electioneering schools around the U.S. you can learn this at. Or you could learn it like I did and go to the sales and there is no limited amount of people who can auction, He speaks so fast just for show and to move the sale along quicker and to keep the buyers on their feat.

There's a school you go to to learn the art. Also, you have to be licensed to be an auctioneer. I think it just takes lots of practice; both listening and auctioning

How do you learn that??? And how do people listening to it (buyers, I suppose?) know what he's saying if there's only a limited number of people who are able to "speak" like that?? I am equal parts fascinated and confused by this. Can someone explain? And why does it have to be so fast?

I have to laugh at some of the comments. To say Ralph Wade is good is like saying Michael Jordan was an allright basketball player. Im a contract bidcaller, and there are about five thousand of us in the USA that would like to have that chant. He has about ten things going on in his head during a sale. Market value, last bid, current bid, next bid, reserve price, quality of product, visual bids, vocal bids and still making sure that his mouth keeps it all straight.

Yes there is, the auctioneer in this video is Ralph Wade, 1974 World Champion. Championship this year is in Fergus Falls Minnesota, I'm lucky enough to be a contestant this year.
