A recent visit with Tarra, Bella, Shirley, Sissy, Winkie, Dulary and Misty, the Sanctuary's Asian elephants who reside in the newer habitat. Since many of these Girls were our original residents, we decided they should be the ones to help usher in our 15th Anniversary!

  • 1. I know Shirley is in the background but which elephant is at 0:41 with the bright eyes?

2.Is that Winkie on the left at 0:58?

    3. Which is the elephant at 1:08?

    Thanks!

  • @veggiewarriors The bright-eyed girl at 0:41 is Sissy.

At 0:58, yes, Winkie is on the left, next to Sissy.

The elephant highlighted at 1:08 is Shirley. The camera caught her at an angle where her torn ear and injured leg aren't visible.

  • How much do each of them weigh?

  • @awesomeH2O If you will go to our main website and follow the drop down links: Our Elephants > Meet our Elephants > Asian and African Elephants, you will see a short bio of each Girl, plus their height and weight and favorite foods. I would send you a direct link, but youtuble won't let us post urls in the comment area. Thanks!

  • Which elephant is at 2:00? I didn't know TES had any calfs.

  • That is 46 year old Misty rolling around in the mud like a calf.

  • I have grown quite fond of the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary. I can recognize them with no problems.

Are any new elephants coming to live at the Elephant Sanctuary soon?

  • @elephantsanctuarytn I love your website!

  • The elephants are amazing in this video! I am glad the Elephant Sanctuary is a place where elephants can truly be who they are - elephants. No domination, no fear, no chains, no restrictions. There is choice, freedom, love, and mutual respect. I am always happy to see that the elephants are able to explore without any fear, and they can overcome their traumatizing experiences in their own time.

  • How totally cute!
