Ishinomori specifically made "Saburo" to be all sorts of kick ass.  Look...if Gavan was the genesis for Robocop, then Hakaider was the precursor to Terminator...with less comedy.

What I'd like to think about this Hakaider is that he was a copy/clone of the original made as a back-up plan for the original hakaider. However since he had remorse for humanity they pretty much just deemed him a failure and locked him up. And the Kikaider Monster was made from the remaining parts of Kikaider in the future. Pretty dumb fan theory, but it's better than the story made in this film (even though I really enjoy it).

They should seriously put your reviews on TGWTGs in chronological order. I'm not gonna watch the review unless its on the site. But seriously Hakaider's dark film noir style tokusatsu is fucking beautiful. And kudos for feeding US audience more Toku goodness.
