I've heard of ignoring period performance practice, but this takes it to a whole other level. I find the interpretation a little too weird for me- just doesn't work. That said.....it seems to be a good high school ensemble!!
This choir needs some lessons in making proper vowels. They are extremely bright in this and as a result make them sound like little kids. A quick fix would be taller vowel shapes and lifting the soft pallet.
Although I have heard this much slower, there seems to be a lighthearted and rhythmic flavor to this version. As there are many ways to interpret music, I appreciate the energy and sensitive spirit of these young singers. They are, with their director, to be commended for tackling such a difficult score.
AHHH the "H" is pronounced in latin...I think I see what ur director is try'n to do by having you guys drop it out..but when the piece is intoduced should use the "H" sound or people will know. It seems shady to anyone who knows. Very HARD song...AMAZING
This was a work in progress. This was before state competition and we had a long way to go before it was ready. But we placed 4th in State and the piece was much more enjoyable. Much less choppy. And we got our tenors tuned after a while.
tune the teners in the beginning, too much soprano, need to bring out the alto more. this peice needs to be flowy and not so rushed and choppy. My choir is doing this peice aswell. Its very beautiful, just takes a lot of work
we r gona sing the same song for our high school choir but it dosnt sound anything like this song

i though ya'll did very well, i don't know why people are criticizing the piece, you're high school students, not the new england chamber choir :(

wow...really not very good, way out of tune. Choir needs work. Singers have horrible timbre.
