I came across some odd comments by Lincoln concerning the Mormons so I looked for books on Lincoln and found "Was A.L.a Spiritualist?" By Nettie Maynard.1899-ish. She was a medium used by Lincoln and her descriptions of events at the White House are very interesting. You can find it on ebay for $30 or so. I bought 3 copies and resold them trying to "Talk up the subject". A.L. did consult spirits. The claims of Nettie are believable and worth reading. Mormons consult the spirit world.
