On June 27, 2010, Rhys Millen attempted to beat the current "Unlimited Class" World Record of 10:01.408 at the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the "Race to the Clouds." For 10 years, it has been Rhys' dream to break the 10-minute barrier and this year he hoped to capture the elusive record and return it to the Millen name. This is look at his run and the challenges he faced in his custom built Genesis PM580: a 1,850 pound, 750 horse power V6 designed specifically to conquer the 156 turns of this 12.52 mile course (of which this year, half is pavement) that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit.

  • sx4 suzuki moster hill climb VS PM580

  • Why must the framerate be increased. This car is sick fast as it is.I've lost inspirato.Redbull is so commercialized i wanna hurl.Give me a struggling privateer please.

  • @BobTheSnail42 Boohoo. The Koreans understand the art of a fast revving V-engine and don't bother with ancient pushrod crap. Aside from sponsorship badge this thing doesn't really have anything else Hyundai except the block on it. I suspect it has a Yamaha derived head. And if doesn't well, Hyundai/Kia is a part of a rare elite in internal combustion engine design. Having the capacity make a V rev up-to and beyond 9krpm.

  • @segev106 Well, wait till he comes back does the fully paved Peak. He used to love dry tarmac rallies back in the day. Wouldn't put it past him to make final blast and brake the 10min barrier on tarmac. Naturally Vatanens record still stands since they started paving the mountain pass after his flying climb. There are idiots who think he's drifting on 'climb dance' but they don't understand he's doing the opposite, fighting for grip.

  • WHY DO AMERICANS NOT KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE CHASSIS

  • can i find out somewhere full race onboard video of this? lol

  • I don't give a fuck if he breaks the 10min marks, BUT NOT IN A HYUNDAI PLZ!!!!!

  • @JDFSSS1989 So he sucks because this is only the 1st time he's driven this car up the Peak? Yeah, let's see you do better.

  • WTF is with that crap music??????????
