This is a tonic clonic (grand mal) seizure I had while in the hospital for video monitoring. I had electrodes hooked up to my head to monitor brain activity. The doctors were trying to see if the seizures were coming from one part of my brain. If they had been coming from one part of my brain, they would have been able to remove that part of my brain, ending the seizures. I am posting this video for educational purposes. It is me in the video, and I own this video, and have the right to post it. Questions are welcome. Please check out http://seizureinfo.yolasite.com/ for more info on seizures. Thank you.

Because a seizure is an involuntary tensing of the muscles, the vocal cords are tensed as well, causing involuntary noises.

  • I liked this video because it shows what happens to me when I have tonic/clonic seizures. Kinda scary. I've been diagnosed with Epilepsy for 24 years now

Hope they can get them under control if they have not been successful in doing that yet. I had a long period of time where mine were not under control. They are now, for which I am very grateful.

  • thank you for sharing, as a medical student studying seizures it is exceptionally helpful. I hope your treatment succeeds in helping you

I am on meds now and haven't had a seizure for 2 years. While these tests were not able to help me in the way they wanted them to, I am better of now than I was then.

  • @bigfrohead55 that has to be the worst part for me when my husband has a seizure. I can hear him clear across the house and since he usually has them in his sleep it can startle you even more. He jokes and says he sounds like a zombie :)

  • can you put an audio warning? I thought i was going to have a seizure when he started screaming

  • I'm not epileptic, and I, luckily, do not suffer from a seizure disorder. However, I have a couple of seizures (None of which were grand mal (I don't think) ; one absence, and two sleep. And I was just wondering why you cry out when you begin to seize? I've never seen/heard that before.

  • Good luck friend
