Self-Reliance is a clip from a series of interviews in Milwaukee, WI about aging out of foster care. It was shot in cooperation wityh UW-Milwaukee and Kids Matter, Inc. It is parting advice for all foster children from professionals and a youth just about to age out of the system.

  • @pineapple1969 This interviews are from people in peripheral social service roles, and while they do work at pushing them to get a solid education, this clip is also about how the social service system comes up short. In acknowledging that, it is important to acknowledge also that people in the system have to make the system work for them.

  • If the social services do not push these foster kids to get a solid education then they are setting them up for failure.
