@armbenjiglio They are just overpasses. They are all grooved in that pattern. Every single bridge deck in Florida is grooved in this pattern-->(II II III II II III) We drove from Miami to Tampa and all the bridge decks we went over made they same weird hum. They actully sound like they are making 2 hums at once.
There are some bridges on I-270 in Illinois (near St. Louis) that do that, too. The grooves are spaced at different lengths, but still form a pattern that creates a weird rumbling or droning sound when you drive over them. You can hear the bridges from far away and it sounds like aliens making droning noises.
Those who research tire/pavement interaction noise refer to the sound as "whining". However, sometimes the grooves have unique patterns, creating more of a "rumble" or "wah wah wah" sound. This particular phenomenon is the result of poor randomization of the grooves.
@lexx41 You should hear the sound the tires makes on the bridge decks in Florida. The grooves on the overpasses in FL are unevenly spaced apart and the tires make a weird sound going over the grooves.
you know what would really be awsome, i think they should repair the skyview bridge and make indentations in the road so that when one drives over, it hums the erie canal song...
The view from the Skyway is gorgeous on sunny days and terrifying on snowy days. But what a view! I sure hope the Skyway isn't torn down as some would like.
ah yes the sound of ur tires on the concrete bridges lol! Gosh that so american to me lol and this is from a guy who is from Ontario where its asphalt everywhere, but i gotta tell you i love hearing that humming sound each time lol!

@lexx41 I wonder if there is an actual term for the screaming sound you get when driving over bridges such as the skyway.
