Use a toaster to toast the crumpet (quicker and easier) and then spread the nutella on the crumpet when its hot (it self-melts itself), but you can also pop the actual crumpet in the microwave for a couple of seconds. Putting your PLASTIC jar of Nutella [not intended for the microwave] in the microwave cannot be a good idea.
Over-complicating such a simple task..
