Guam- It's been a while since the island had a fully functioning museum, but in just a few short days, one will open that pays tribute to those who fought for Guam's freedom from the Japanese during World War II. Josh Tyquiengco gives this sneak preview of the Pacific War Museum.

The museum will be charging a small entrance fee of $3 for adults and $2 for children that will go towards its operating costs. Volunteers are also welcome to help and can contact Museum President John Gerber at (671)727-8355.

  • My prayers are with you and Ari. Let's hope John's dream continues with the family he loved so well.

    God Bless you,

John Gerber had one awesome "DASH"

  • @Burners29 On my week with John I was repeatedly instructed / ordered to include Mela within the story. He spoke of your tireless energy in feeding Marines and working with a passion at the museum.

John, showed me the site near your home for "a new home for Mela" he would build. Showed his new friend an airline jetway, he would, with his brilliant imagination and relentless energy, make part of "Mela's new home."

  • John Gerber dead at 58

There is a squared away place far far away, where "the streets are guarded by United States Marines.* Our Sergeant Gerber is up there now, swapping sea stories with his best pal Lance Corporal Rufo San Nicholas.

John was one a of a kind - a good one of a kind. He was "The Real McCoy" who loved his wife, kids, and the United States Marine Corps. As long as we remember him, he will be alive.

  • Fantastic! about time- The pacific islands has alot of WWII stories to offer.

  • One great idea on done on a realistic basis

    Well Done Marines
