Kentucky Live!: Healing Kentucky

In support of her recent book, Nancy Baird, Kentucky History Specialist at the Kentucky Library and Museum, presented "Healing Kentucky" at 7pm on February 14th at Barnes & Noble. This program is part of the "Kentucky Live!" series of programs organized by the WKU Nancy Baird - Healing Kentucky Libraries.

Healing Kentucky looked at 200 years of progress in medicine and health care in the Commonwealth--from Ephraim McDowell, who performed abdominal surgery on his kitchen table, to a couple of University of Louisville surgeons, who transplanted an artificial heart into the chest of a Logan County man.
