Helen is able to hit a nerve when you hear this song, special the Swedish version...and proud of Bjorn/Benny producing this song...
-
@Rabiyakomalaman I agree, the song makes a new start at that point. =)

Ive read the book, watch the film..but only now I get tears in my eyes.

God she's good. and Helen is the original Kristina, no one can compare, so I don't even know what Susan Boyle was trying to do.
-
Susan Boyles version can not even compares with Helens! I can't find words to describe how amazing Helen does it!

Wow !!!!!!!!!!

@bowtown Helen is singing about why god don´t seem to exist because of a child´s death.. Susan´s text is not about that... And helen also ought to have read the novel "Utvandrarna" from which the musica "Kristina från Duvemåla" emanates...And that gives more feelings...(I don´t know whether Utvandrarna is translated..)

So many thanks for posting this. I was really moved to tears from this version. What a voice and what a presentation!
Susan Boyle has a big problem with her phrasing on certain songs and this, in my opinion was a really bad choice for her to sing. Helens version, however, is truly magnificent. What a performer!

Wow, what an amazing voice! She tells a story with her voice and that is so different from being just a good singer.
