All it takes is a wheel to mount the kerb for a rollover to occur. In 1998 an incredible 11,000 people in the US alone were killed in rollover incidents, most of them in SUVs. Volvo addressed this problem with the XC90: boron reinforced cage four times the strength of ordinary steel and airbags that remained inflated ten times longer than other airbags (of that era). Here the Volvo hits the ground with 30 tonnes of force exerted on its pillar. I can't wait till I can afford an XC90!

They should drop the car from the sky so we would see if it really was safe.

I suppose the damage would look like very similar to this, maybe the left headlight would broke down, dunno.
