Award-winning cinema ad for the famous British newsaper "The Guardian". The challenge was to create something creatively ground-breaking that would last for a year of screenings. Xeroxed cels, pen & ink and Magic Marker pens were the materials used.
I can't actually remember when this was made exactly but 'early 80's' sounds about right. The designs were by illustrator Ken Rinciani (an American living in Amsterdam at the time) and the music was by the late Vivian Stanshall (of "Bonzo Dog Dooda Band" fame). It was one of the most refreshing things I ever directed/animated and I still dream of doing something similarly unique again. Thanks for the kind comment though... I appreciate it! Tony. :^{)}=-
When was this ad made? I think it was sometime in the early 80s but I'm not sure. Still, this is AMAZING. I wouldn't be surprised if it was featured at the Cannes Lions!

It's actually a cinema advert because of the BBFC classification at the start.
