Waited for the summer crowds to leave and the 2nd run of reds to spawn before taking the GoPro HD camera for a little underwater viewing on the Kenai & Russian rivers in Alaska. It was a warm, sunny day on September 10th, 2010 which is not typical but the spawned reds were pretty colorful underwater. The GoPro has been fun but could probably do better with a filter. The 1st run of Silver salmon were coming through as well but not real thick this day. Typical when the rivers are filled with spawners there ends up a lot of snagged fish while going for chrome silvers or for the Dollies and rainbow fishing. A great day with my son visiting and with our friend Gary Keller who was a contestant on the Ultimate Sportsman show this last year. Gary is the one with the nice silver.

  • The pictures in the begining are they taken with the GoPro Hd Hero?

  • @TheNYoutdoorsmen The still pictures at the beginning were taken with a 3.2 mp Kodak pocket cam. I had an idea what I wanted to do for this vid so it was easier while packing fishing gear & cams. However, I have used the GoPro picture feature many times and they come out great at max resolution. The timelapse feature is very cool!

  • Good movie. By the way what is this song called?

  • @jungthethird Thanks for watching!. Song is part of Digital Juice Backtrax bundle ..Acoustic Dreams I believe but not sure which track...great acoustics for relaxing...Cheers!

  • is there good way to tell if it is recording like a sound or LED or anything? how long does it record for continously? thanks great vid!

  • @glenandgibbert there is a red LED on the front that flashes when running video or camera. There is also a lot of new trick stuff out for them...check out "eyeofmine" web site as they have all of the all the info you need including battery/card life references. Have fun!
