This educational video takes you inside a live animal market in New York City where you see birds and rabbits, adults and children. Live markets are where many "free-range" chickens, ducks and other birds end up. At the market, you occasionally hear the videographer talking in an upbeat way, in order to obtain the footage without revealing her purpose. At the end you see some birds she managed to rescue from the market. An alternative to "factory farming"? Watch and decide. http://www.upc-online.org/livemarkets

proud to be vegetarian..and promoting it with much fervor.. We dont need to eat any kind of animal to survive, it is simply to satisfy our acquired tastes. Shame on us to do this to innocent loving animals!!
The sad thing is that we're capable of caring about this sort of thing, but we don't seem to. We also have excellent alternatives to meat, but, instead, we insist on killing. I'm from the Bronx, and these live poultry places are popular with Latino immigrants, like my parents. Seeing chickens have their necks broken right in front of me, which i think is better than what they were doing here, was a big reason why I became a vegetarian. Anyway, we just have to keep fighting.
I pass by a live poultry market which is called Saba 2 Live Poultry (Halal) somewhere in the bronx around 159st and 161st in grand concourse, when i pass by ,there was a strong odor of birds and alot of clucking. I really felt bad for those chickens and roosters, those jerks who work there doesn't give food.
No respect for life at all, no empathy what so ever. I ask myself am i of the same species as the people that do things like this to a living being. Humanity, what are you doing ?
WOw, my friend told me about that place, when he lived in NY. He said they shut the place down or somthing, againts the law. That is so worng any so many ways. 1 then need to cut the necks bigger, to kill them faster. That is a very unsanatery place to!!! I dont want to eat chicken no more.
