This is an extensive suite of samba reggae grooves from Salvador, Brasil. It is the culmination of several trips to Brazil by Dr. Eugene Novotney (and students) to study samba rhythms with members of the bloco Ile Aiye. Our main teachers of this material were Marivaldo Paim and Mario Pam. Thanks to Ze Ricardo for the song to Oxossi in the middle. This was performed on Dec. 1, 2007 in the Van Duzer Theatre on the campus of Humboldt State University.
