NB:- Yes the statement marked ** below does mean the LiPo can still be used!!

My apologies for the audio on this video as my voice fades in and out due to the little mic on my digi camera.

A quick look at Version 2 of the AGM Sten MkII 6mm airsoft SMG. This version of the AGM Sten became available in Britain during the first week of September 2009. There are two main differences between the first release and this one. Firstly Version 2 has an enlarged stock tube which enables the use of a NiMh stick battery as an additional alternative to the LiPo**. The second modification is that the original fixed HOP unit has been replaced by an adjustable HOP which is accessed by rotating the magazine housing to the transit position which uncovers an aperture allowing a small Allen key to be inserted to adjust the HOP. The battery supplied with my Sten is an AGM branded 8.4V 1100Mah stick which gives an acceptable rate of fire especially given that only low and mid caps are available off the shelf at present. The general build quality seems to be slightly better than examples of the first version I saw a few weeks ago, the metal work appears better and the paint finish looks to be fairly good. I was surprised to find that when I tested various parts of the gun with a magnet I found over 90% to be made of steel, the gun weighs six pounds with a magazine fitted. Two things I would advise as per all ACM airsoft guns is to make sure all screws are tight and where possible thread locked and to give the barrel a good clean as mine was full of paint dust. Overall a pretty nice piece of kit although quite expensive for what it is, mine was £189.99 from Airsoft Armoury which is slightly cheaper than some others.

  • Im guessing that only canadians and british used these?

  • @TheDomtar

Standard issue to the British & Canadian armies but as already stated many were supplied to the resistance movements operating in occupied Europe. On top of that it being such a simple design many Stens were scratch built locally to widely varying standards of quality by secret resistance factories.

  • looks like it would be hard too hold

Not really, I just use my hands just like the blokes did in WW2.

    ;o)

  • This pisses me off, "ProudAmerican" I really doubt you're from the U.S.A.

People make screen names like that and post bullshit just to try and make the U.S. look like crap. Fucking retarded, and if you are from the U.S. THANK GOD THAT MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT LIKE YOU. it's just fucking shitty that people end up going by first impressions.

  • @FosterSniper You rather got the wrong end of the stick regarding Allahismydog's comment from over a year ago. He was making reference to a stupid comment by a user calling himself "ProudAmerican", it was nothing to do with anything I said in my video with my very British accent. :o)

  • @Allahismydog wtf? where in this vid does he say he's american?

  • @TarnishUK Awesome! Im Canadian, proud as hell to be it! Im so glad that we are calling our military The ROYAL Canadian Military agian.... For years they had the Royal out...

  • @TheDomtar Mainly but many freedom fighters like Max Manus used them.

  • @NewLoganTV1

Yes the STEN is a British weapon, it was made principally here in the UK but also in Canada and in various secret locations in occupied Europe by the resistance movement. The real Sten can be purchased in the UK only in deactivated form. The only other options being airsoft or model guns. I have no idea regarding the situation in the US I'm afraid.

  • @TarnishUK I had another question about the sten gun ... is it easier to find and buy the real gun in the UK or USA or where? ... it was made in the UK wasn't it?, i love WWI and WWII guns, airsoft versions and real versions of WWI and WWII guns or can you only get like some type of model for the gun and not the real sten gun? (Thanks if your able to answer my questions)
