As insects grow from egg to adult, they pass through one or more changes in form. This change in form is called metamorphosis. But not all insects go through exactly the same kind of metamorphosis. Using familiar insects as examples, the video illustrates the various types of metamorphoses. Part of the "Backyard Science" series. When children play in their backyards, they get a first glimpse of the wonders of nature through encounters with all sorts of small creatures. Produced by Norman and Marjorie Bean, the "Backyard Science" series offers a fascinating introduction to natural science.

@XSuperFistX You can tell if it is a silverfish by the three Cerci that are coming out of the end of the abdomen. if they come out with one pointing straight back and the other two pointing to the sides at an almost 90degreee angle from the center cerci pointing straight back then it is a silverfish. Very common in restrooms and libraries. they like to eat starchy things like glue and paper.
