Testing my 0-60 mph time in the Caterham 7 Roadsport 120

One of the things we got to do at the brilliant Lotus 7 club handling day was test out my ability and my car's ability to hit the claimed 0-60 time. This was my best run of 7.14 seconds... a time I was disappointed by to tell you the truth! Apparently though there is talk that the accelerometer fitted to the car for the accurate timing could have been up to 20% out... I like that story, giving me and my car a time closer to the claimed 5.9 seconds!

Good effort all the same. Do you have the 5 or 6 speed 'box?

@granthibbett cheers, it's 1.6 k series with a 5 speed, I probably didn't need to hit 4th right at the end... can't wait for next years handling day

Agreed 7.14 is slow but you don't exactly launch it off the line very aggressively. 4500rpm and smoothly sump the clutch :D, if your not getting a tiny bit of chirruppy wheelspin you can launch harder. Your 1st gear sounds pretty short too, we are changing the the 1st ratio in ours from around 3;30 to 2;80 ish so that it does come off cam on the shift to 2nd. . Nice vid though.
