Black-tailed prairie dogs are currently being considered for protection under the Endangered Species Act. So why would the EPA even think about approving two new poisons to help kill prairie dogs in ten states across America?

Rozol and Kaput-D are blood-thinning poisons that, when ingested, cause prairie dogs to slowly bleed to death a cruel and excruciating way to die. These poisons also set off a chain reaction of secondary poisoning that can kill imperiled animals that are tied to prairie dogs on the food chain -- including black-footed ferrets, swift foxes, badgers, bald eagles, burrowing owls and ferruginous hawks.

We need your help to spare prairie dogs and other wildlife from a cruel and painful death -- and hold the EPA accountable for its role in speeding the decline of imperiled species.

Please follow the link above and fill out the fields on the e-petition to urge the EPA to ban the use of these poisons on prairie dogs for their sake and for the black-footed ferrets and other imperiled Great Plains wildlife that depend on them to survive.

The deadline for comments is October 23rd, so we dont have much time.
Thank you.

  • Hey liberals, activists, hippies, pussies, and emotionally sensitive queers. Theyre prairie dogs, thers billions of them. cute. but they destroy land and can ruin foundation, cripple cattle and other livestock, ect. Its extremely difficult to dispose of these animals due to their behavior and massive numbers. so stop crying and think straight because when prairie dogs are uprooting bones from a grave yard or breaking the legs of a ranchers livestock, his only form of income, thats a real problem

  • @Whitecracka1324 Do you realize you just described yourself & every other person like you?

Humans: there's billions of them. They destroy the land. They kill cattle like no other. Extremely difficult to get rid of because of their behavior & massive numbers. Look in the mirror - your a cancerous lesion upon this earth.

  • @MonkeysMovies If you hate being human so much go kill yourself

  • @MrSammers12 the difference between us is that I have respect for ALL creation whereas people like you seek only to destroy it. Killing is always your solution isn't it? Try living for a change, you may enjoy it more.

no... the last time people used poison to get rid of prairie dogs, they nearly put the black-footed ferret to extinction!!! the Ferrets' diet almost entirely depended on prairie dogs!!! now, only 3 very small areas left of Black-footed ferret population... without prairie dogs... the ferrets would starve to death!!! They're classified as an endangered species! Used to be classified as EXTINCT!!!

  • @Chadellac1 sounds like you might be the emotional one. Living in balance with nature is not only logical - it's just plain common sense. If you can't see how destroying the ecosystem is to our own detriment then you have a cancerous view. You've demonstrated your inability to listen which tells me that you just want to argue for the sake of it so I will block you now. I already told you I'm not a liberal.

  • Typical liberal........Emotion based crap by people that have no exposure the reality the topic. Farmers and Ranchers are the Shepherds of the land. You people would have no problem displacing prairie dogs to build a Starbucks or a Toyota Dealership !!!!!!!

  • i agree that the poisoning method is cruel and ultimately damaging to the food chain. Such practices against prarie dogs should be stopped!

I agree that gun hunting pdogs is more humane than poison, and definitely more fun!!

  • @MonkeysMovies Exaggerated myth? Who are you to judge? Do you have any experience in range land management? I’ve been on a horse and had them trip in an older grown over hole. I’d like to see the shoe on the other foot, your yard full of them. Know your facts before you make an emotion based need for change. Your liberal ideas are typical all emotion and no common since. Farmers and ranchers are Sheppard of the land. We take care for the land because it takes care of us.
