When I was a grad student my lack of economic resources made my relationships with women very difficult and it was tough getting dates. Even well off women would get angry at me if I could not pay their way for an activity. Now I earn enough to support 4 or 5 people with my salary and I have lots of options. Magically, women are interested in me. Should I return the favor and go for a woman who is a doctor or lawyer? Or use my money for a trophy wife? It's a lot more fun doing the rejecting.

To rtldv. First, congradulations on your success. Second, the "well off women" you refered to perhaps should have been more understanding. Many individuals do not necessarily seek equal rights but power. I encourage you to not lower yourself to their standards but instead seek a "lady" ( key word there ) who is interested in you not your money.

Will she love me for me or for my money? or will she love me for my social class/prestige and reknown/fame/reputation as a "whatever it is you are" and in the end, love is none of those things and love is not money. Love is spirit, anything else is illusion (what some call mammon). Love is truth. So, if you are truthful to yourself, you will at least recognize how conflicted you are about love and money though they are both currencies, they have nothing to do with one another.

Written by a woman. Few women will tell the "unabashed truth". The reason they won't talk about money is because for most it is more important than love.

to say that most women are more interested in money than in love is a generalization that, as a woman, I would not dare make about men... however, I'll love you and forgive you first before I will judge you for being so flip.
