Obviously the idea was that if the'd work together all 5 could have cut themselves a bit and enough blood would have ran out, but as there was only two they had to cut themselves a lot, but could they get Amanda's body and use that in the saw?

Yes. The reason I find the movies interesting is because they teach life lessons in a gruesome way. It shows that all actions have consequences. I do agree though that Jigsaw definetly goes overboard.
