  • Memories like these are good ones. They remind us that God is faithful. Yet do not stay in the memories. Let the words of this song minister to you now that you might make memories for others, memories that speak of God's power and love in your life.

  • Bless you Stacie. When I first heard this song the one phrase that really caught me was this, "When somehow, without a sound, I heard Him call my name." That's the way God works. So many people are trying to make Christianity a religion, when in fact it is a relationship with God. It's personal and intimate. Of course we do need to gather with others so we can be encouraged and encourage others in the Lord, but that's like family coming together at the dinner table. God is still our Father

  • Hi Gabe! Thanks for the comment. I've listened to a lot of Christian music over the years. In the early 70s began some really great stuff, actually before that, with Danny Taylor and Children of Truth, Love Song and others. If you go to Barry's site you'll find a link to them. God bless.

  • I agree with Marty on this. I would love to have Bullfrogs and Butterflies, but haven't been able to find it. Then there's Railroad Man, one of the first originals he put out. I've heard each of these performed live and I have to tell you, no one performs live like Barry!

  • It sure is. Barry sang that song with conviction. It became a "one hit wonder" in 1968. Afterwards Barry became a Christian. He says he put his guitar up for a year before God told him to take it back down and sing for Him. He's been doing that ever since. He has a beautiful spirit, one that truly emits the Light of the World that lives in him. I've met him several times and we contact each other via email from time to time. He's a wonderful Christian brother.

  • This one brings back a lot of memories--

  • Barry Mcquire moved me as a young child with this song. I searched all day, not remembering what the name of it was. Thank you! My dad use to turn the lights down, put the "record album" on the record player and crank that song. I felt like I was right there with Barry as he road along side Jesus. Amazing when an artist can move you spiritually and create a almost life like image in your head.

  • I first was aware of his christian music in 1973 when He, The 2nd Chapter of Acts , + a band called "David" made a praise album.(How The West Was One.) There was no "Contemporary Christian Music" then, Just a bunch of old rock in rollers that had "The fire fall and the wind blow and the Holy Spirit poured into and onto their lives! We had music that I haven't seen the likes of since! Thanks for posting this!! Gabe

  • This is one of my favorite Barry McGuire songs of all time!Only thing missing from this selection of his songs is Bullfrogs and Butterflies.
