This is not a real video. Instead, it is audio only. I've come up with this video in regards to reviving Sega Super GT and perhaps making it available for consoles. Sega Super GT/SCUD (Super Car Ultimate Drive) Race is one of the all-time best racing games never available for home consoles. Released in 1996 with the Japan-only SCUD Race Plus a year later, this game was one of the finest racing game experiences with four great cars to choose from across four beautiful tracks. It's a news-style report from me regarding reviving this game and coming up either with a complete renovation or a 21st-Century makeover (like OutRun 2). With arcade rooms mostly becoming an endangered species, find out what I'm thinking of as far as making this game available to home consoles as well as if I think you could spice things up a bit if given a 21st century makeover.

  • There is a new game that Sega just patented called "Sega Racing Classic" for their new Ringedge board. Sounds like it will probably be produced in the same spirit as games like this and Daytona, Sega Rally etc.

  • Really, now? I'll have to read more on that. Thanks for watching (or listening)!

  • I love That game, Its RARE as fuck, SEGA canceled it, WHAT WAS SEGA THINKING?!?

  • Let us rejoice to the gods of emulation, Scud Race is playable at last!

  • Note - It's not an April fools joke, its for real. Sorry, should have said that before.

  • This game was removed from my local arcade a couple of years ago :(

April 1st 2011 : It's finally playable on the home PC, yeehaa :D

  • @smhillis I played the game at IAAPA last year and the framerate was worse than the original arcade release, I even think that the Saturn verison ran much more smoother than the arcade re-release. Just stick to playing the arcade version on a emulator.

  • They need to make an emulator called MAMEHD, so we can play Model 3 games in HQ and with sound. That can be another chance of playing it, if it existed. Love SSGT!

  • You're right it could have handled a decent port and maybe I was a bit too harsh in my judgement. But the port would have been compromised. Daytona 2001 was great-looking, but not quite on a Model 3 Step 2 level. Daytona 2 still looks so good today. Imagine if Sega gave Daytona 2 an HD remake like they are with the first game!

  • @jaymum23 I argee that SR2 looked terrible on the DC, but I reckon that it could've handled a half decent version of Scud Race - Daytona 2001 looked pretty sweet. Just a shame it handled so badly - no matter how much you tweaked the controls.

  • Check out my Facebook page "Bring out Scud Race/Super GT on current generation home systems!". Just search for Scud Race on Facebook and you should find it no probs. If like me you're a massive fan of this game, then become a fan on my site and if enough people sign up maybe the idiots at Sega will take note and finally bring this legendary game out on home systems.

  • Amen! Great video, commentary, and blog for Sega Racers Megamix. This is AM2Model3, and I'm all for this game! Scudrace & Daytona USA 2 are #1!! = )
