Driving a stepper with a PICKit2, PIC16F690, and an L298N (dual H-bridge). The program on the PIC is just a modified example lookup table.

  • that motor 4 wires? could you tell me what the wires do lol i stuck on 4 wire steppers

  • A 4 wire stepper has 2 coils. The first coil is connected to the first two LEDs, the second to the other two. If all of the wires are connected to ground, when you pull up one wire, that coil is magnetized one way. Pull up the other wire to reverse it. You can see it activates one coil, then the next, turns off the first, then reverses it, the turns off the second, etc. Here's a table: 1 2 1:0001 2:0101 3:0100 4:0110 5:0010 6:1010 7:1000 8:1001 It loops around again to continue turning.
