I don't think anyone cares about 'discomfort' caused by blade fans, that they can carry several at a time, or that you can store them easily. The fact they're environmentally friendly and energy efficient so potentially save money seems far more interesting and would have greater potential to encourage people to fork out $200 compared to a classic fan for less than $50. Until Dyson find a different way of selling this product it seems they've invented something with little real value

Danger to kids? Yeah any kid who sticks their hand in a fan is braindead

Easier to clean? Yeah sure, boy it takes a lot of effort to snap off a safety grill and wipe the blades
