Channel 13's newscasts are "dry", IMO. It just seems like they have ZERO pride in the greater Indpls. area, and never really did from the start. The only local station that is distinctively Indy, and always has been, is rtv6.

Actually, they started to slip during the early 90s. McGraw-Hill just really didn't know how to put a newscast out there. WTHR started to gain from its terrible early position in the 60s and 70s and continued a local commitment.

Several Anchor Changes in the past few years...and having to let veterans personalities go be cause they can't afford them...so the move to high paying WTHR, which is where former anchor Ray Cortopassi is, due to his low approval ratings with Martha Weaver. Therefore replaced my Todd Wallace and Trisha Shepherd.

so SOMETHING must've had to have happened in order for WRTV to fall from first, to second and third...was it like WBBM? Bad management?

According to the ratings WRTV is just passind WISH-TV in nearly all newscast and already 2nd in the morning and at 5:00. Judge Judy who ratings have past Opraha (WRTV 4:00 Competion) is significatly helping out 6News First at Five. Though WISH-TV and WTHR have a more competitive realtionship at 11:00, WRTV is moving up strong at 5,6 and 7:00pm.

That is simply becasue WTHR gets more money than WRTV, WXIN, and WISH-TV. WRTV has been Indiana dominant News leader from the start of news in Indiana, until a few years back!

A new set would be nice, but I think their graphics are very graceful & impactful....maybe if they got a slight facelift, but nothing major.

There's a reason why WTHR is #1, and why WRTV isn't...I gotta say, just because you're a fan of 'RTV, doesn't necessarily mean EVERYONE has to be...I, for one, really don't like RTV6 as much as I do WTHR. I think 'THR's coverage is more extensive, and everything flows perfectly...very viewer-friendly...what makes you an 'RTV fan?
