It is funny how many products involved in the creation of this video contain copper and nickel. It is also funny how people can be so opposed to mining, yet not think twice about driving a car or talking on a cell phone, or use any of the other countless every day products which rely on mined materials in order to function. It is ok to be opposed, but not ignorant.

@Gadolinium158 - this company has a bad past on how they run their mines they put out so much pollution so I'm sure they will damage our lakes, rivers, rish, wildlife and possibly the people that live in that city. they are dirty and need to stop this. go back to where you come from Kennecott and your parent company can go back to the UK leave Michigan be!

Screw Kennecott we don't want no sulfide mines to damage our beautiful lakes, fish, wildlife, possibly people. Kennecott has a bad past of being crooked and doing things dirty research them to learn the truth. they want Michigans Minerals as metals are so high right now and they don't care what or who they damage.

water washing sulfides dont make sulfuric acid. its the smelting process that makes sulfur dioxide, which dissolves in water to form weak sulfurous acid, only a small amount becomes sulfur trioxide which forms sulfuric acid, and even then the amount wont be enough to dehydrate sugar like that
