Barstow Mayor chastised for actions to block Indian gaming

Barstow Mayor Lawrence Dale sent an unauthorized letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs attacking a tribe with which the City of Barstow has an agreement to develop a casino resort.

The letter was meant to advantage a Detroit-based casino syndicate that seeks to build and manage two Indian casinos in Barstow.

Colleagues and residents alike believe Dale's actions will hurt Barstow's chances to win any approvals for Indian gaming. They chastised his unauthorized actions at an August 28, 2007 City Council meeting

Don't buy into the BarWest lies that anyone is paying me to represent them. It isn't true. I am a civil rights activist and I believe that Ancestral rights are the same. However one cannot forget that you are basically in the pocket of San Manuel/Chemehuevi and you are peddling just as much false and misleading information as they are. Mayor Dale is not only a total pawn and puppet of the right-wing billionaire developer, BarWest, he is an accomplice in their attempt to violate the Ancestral Rights of legitimate tribes, specifically the Chemehuevi. Reservation Shopping is an evil scorned by Native Americans and law makers across this country. Dale violated the government codes when he drafted this letter. It is time for Dale and his two lackeys on the council to be investigated, indicted and recalled.
