  • Spencer was the only, and will be the only rider to win 250 and 500 championship in the same year an amazing accomplishment in itself. And as for the technical bit the bikes were much less refined as todays computer controlled bikes. What your throttle hand and ass in the seat did is all that controlled the bike and the two stroke power delivery is like nothing today. ahhhhhh memories....

  • Actually, no he's not, you idiot.

Giacomo Agostini won 15 world championships, and Rossi only 9.

So, even though your grammar shows you up to be as thick as a plank, it also shows you to be unaware and uneducated. Especially in terms of motorcycle racing history AND true rider ability.

The modern 600s make the same power, 125ish, and thats with a 4 stroke, big difference, thats stock with safe settings, and this was the best tech at the time, now anyone can afford a slightly used bike for 5k. Actually it was more like 30 years now, ur math is a lil off

  • @Bulgdoom so, you mean to tell me, that a modern 600 gsxr makes about 20 HP less than this TWENTY EIGHT YEAR OLD 2-stroke, and weighs 140lbs more....... and you are IMPRESSED by that? i'm absolutely laughing my ass off.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom

120.3HP @ 11k RPm, 112 degree V3 2 stroke @ 260 lb (dry or wet?). What I was getting at is that technology is really moving, todays affordable 4 stroke bikes are matching overall 2 stroke Moto GP performance of the past decades

  • @Bulgdoom Wrong. These bikes had 160-170hp in 1983 and weighed 250lbs. one of these would absolutely made a 2011 GSXR1000 look like an electric wheelchair. still. to this day. My RGV250 is a 92. it makes 70hp, and weighs 280lbs, and that is enough to walk a 600 up to about a 2001 R6. the people who who doubt 2 strokes know nothing about 2 strokes.

  • @Bulgdoom I believe they actually had at least 125 hp, Also, Those 500's only weighed about 225 pounds or so! Ur 750 probably weighs about 425-450 wet! They (500's) had a great power to weight ratio!

  • Kenny Roborts !

  • holy crap..did they just push start their bikes off the line...those days of racing are awesome....

  • These bikes only had about 100 hp,, my current street 750 has 150 alone and the thousands are getting up to 200

  • @gastonave

Remember reading about that. Roberts was royally ticked off about. Said it was incredibly stupid and dangerous move.
