Are the orange locomotives ES44s or D9s?

I can't believe that I sat here counting cars (174)! Nice video! I love how the train started slowly and really picked up speed. I must get to Commerce, CA some day! Thanks for posting!

that would have been awesome if itwas a power move

awesome video and verry long train

@aneal138 But this train is not coal, it's just lightweight stuff, so he said the whole train may weigh as little as 4,000 tons.
-
@aneal138 ~1.8 miles long, taking into account 3 engines.

K so for anyone that cares, I asked my boyfriend an Loco Engineer, and he said the biggest train he ever ran was 150 cars, 8256 ft, 20,000 tons (coal train). So for anyone that wants to do the math, this one is 174 cars.
love this

very, very nice. its there always alot of extra power sitting there? is that a commuter rail station? love the vid. looks like a good place to film, shoot, watch. no rail police or transportation police bugging you?

Yeah, it's Metrolink's Commerce Station. No real security hassles and there's always plenty of power there for intermodals waiting to go east.
