  • Jonathan Meiburg is the best part. imo.

Not that I want to divide Shearwater into, 'parts.' I love their music too much.

  • Thor Harris is a phenomenal drummer & multi-instrumentalist--see Swans live before disagreeing, the man's amazing.

  • @passionatearts I think I agree with you. The drums in shearwater songs tend to be a bit to stiff and boring. Everything else kicks ass tough so I still love them :)

  • wow!!! Che voce questo!!!

  • I Just Saw Sheerwater with Wye Oak and Hospital Ships last night in Silverlake, LA. Freakn Amazing!!!!.. All of the members were just sooo musically in sync! All of them changed roles with each song it seemed. And I have to disagree with 'passionatearts'... the Drums fit the song and the lyrics pefectly....in my opinion...

  • @theDyingWhale Ha ha ha! I don't mind an orchestral sound (in fact, it sounds good with Shearwater's music), but the drums have to be good. This guy's drumming style does not work with Shearwater's music.

  • @passionatearts This all started when Sheff left and Meiburg took over the band. Shearwater started having a much bigger, more orchestral sound after that. Then again, what do you expect from a drummer named Thor?

  • @passionatearts I share your experience of having 'discovered' Shearwater recently.

I don't share your opinion on the drums for multiple reasons, but I guess it all boils down to taste in the end anyway!
