@ImAJ00guy I later realized that flaw in my logic and saw that the characters are more closely locked. Most of the time, whoever's in the back gets hit the most while the two in front take most of the rings. I think the only thing that works against the player is the delay between characters when you do a jump.

Other than that yeah, you're right bout it being easier. -w-;

@Fironkkuify Ahh yes, Sonic 2 Heroes.

In that hack, Tails' AI snaps him right behind Sonic, while Knuckles is last, in the position where Tails was in the original game. When you spin around to collect rings, or spread out, Tails gets most of the secondary rings. Tails, since he is right on Sonic's ass, does not get hit by bombs this time; Knuckles does that. However, Knuckles collects so few rings, that him getting hit does not impede progress.

Therefore, it is actually easier in S2Heroes.
