Doctor Who - "Doctor, why do you wear a stick of celery on your lapel?"

"Doctor, why do you wear a stick of celery on your lapel?"

Just before his death and regeneration, the fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) is asked by his companion Peri why he wears a stick of celery on his lapel. He tells her that he can eat it for a regenerative benefit in case he ever gets poisoned. (The Caves of Androzani)

When the tenth Doctor (David Tennant) crashes his TARDIS into the fourth Doctor's TARDIS, the two incarnations get to meet each other. The tenth Doctor pokes a little bit of fun at his younger self for wearing celery on the lapel. (Time Crash)

Finally, after the silurians nearly kill the eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith), he weakly asks them for some celery, indicating that the Earth vegetable still can serve as a restorative for the Time Lord. (Cold Blood)

DT actually said Davison was his favorite. Keep in mind the character was more teasing his younger self than being a douche. Davison also got to make a little bit of DT's Doctor by referring to him as "Some skinny idiot ranting about every single thing that happens to be in front of him."
