A neodymium rare earth magnet is suspended in mid air over a superconductor in a liquid nitrogen bath. The induced loop currents create dynamic magnetic fields that oppose the magnet's magnetic field that created them. My 7 year old and her two friends watch in amazement. This is what physics is all about - teaching our young. If you like testing your mind, check out the site http://www.mindchallenger.com

  • a million different inventions will come out of this. This is the future.

  • Good now touch the liquid nitrogen and make an instant ice finger! (Great vid BTW!)

  • my bed is like that :)

  • how do magnets work?

  • where can i get a superconductor?

  • @BorNovStudios oh, i didn't read the description. *feels stupid*

  • @Iceinilla its a superconductor, stupid!

  • its because both magnets are the same (there both north or both south) making them repel
