Yep, "THE ADVENTURES OF KIT CARSON" (1951-'55) made a ton of money for MCA [and its original sponsor, Coca-Cola] in first-run syndication, right through the '60s. Then, they failed to renew the copyright on the show after 1978, and the series fell into "public domain". That's why outfits like Genius Entertainment often release several episodes on "discount DVD's"....
